I've been coming here for the past 5 years and I get the same ice cream every time, cookie jar. Since the new owners took over it hasn't been in stock for over a month. They mentioned they weren't going to change the ice cream but flavors and ingredients keep changing. Bring back cookie jar.

So yummy! I love the Blueberry cheesecake and Ube flavors :) Also the renovations look great. Much more modern and comfortable. The new owners and staff are welcoming and doing a great job.

This used to be a great place to bring my kids for a cool treat. But since the new owners bought it the place has really gone down hill in service. The flavor selection is not as varied as it used to be and the sugar free flavors are are gone. They've been using the excuse that a cooler is broken for about 2 months now. My advice is to fix it or keep losing customers.

I was sitting home today and had the urge for some “IceCream” so I decided to go to Tanya & Matt’s for a cone…I ordered 2 Scoops of vanilla and not only was it delicious but it felt like it weighed at least a pound, I walked to my car and when I sat down my arm bumped something and knocked it outta my hand bounced off my leg and hit the asphalt…I was a little upset because I just spent $8.00 on it so I picked it up immediately and everything stayed intact the IceCream stayed on the cone and did not fall off this young lady knew what she was doing, I just happened to have a plastic knife in my vehicle and was able to cut the bad part off the cone and was able to continue to enjoy my IceCream.
Just goes to show you that when you go somewhere that puts that much care into their Art you will be satisfied.

I’m from Thailand and i’ve tried many ice-cream here in the US. Never be able to eat as it’s too milky and way too sweet for me. Until i found this place and i just loved it!!!! Not too sweet, many flavor to choose. I got the Chocolate covered cherry…. Was amazing 😍✨ will def visit again

Best Icecream Parlour with Fresh Icecream. I tried the Coconut flavour here and it was superb.
I tried few other flavours as well and everything seemed excellent.
The special mention should be about the freshness of the Icecream. It was neither too much frozen nor molten in nature but it was as an Icecream is supposed to be.
The staff were friendly and helpful. They have outdoor seating arrangement as well as inside and they have sufficient seating available for all the Customers. It was not much crowded but floating crowd here and there.
Outside, plenty of Parking available and it's easy to find a spot next to the Icecream Parlour.
We would love to visit again and try other flavours soon

I love supporting non-corporate businesses. Was glad to stop in Tanya and Matt's today to grab some milkshakes. Sophia was wonderful in showing me flavors, explaining sizes, etc. I got a strawberry banana shake and another with coffee ice cream and salted caramel. Both were absolutely delicious. Thanks Sophia, for making my day with great shakes! T&M ice creamiest has dozens of flavors and all made on premises. Check it out!

My husband and I are frequent (nearly weekly!) visitors of Tanya & Matt’s. We love all of the flavor options, sundaes, and toppings. Also Ellie is one of our favorite servers- she always greets guests cheerfully and never skimps on giving a full scoop of ice cream. We can’t thank Ellie and the Tanya & Matt’s team enough for being our go-to ice cream spot!

We came in with 2 little kids and Natalia and Melina were so patient with the kids orders. They let them look at all the colors of the flavors and pick the cones that looked the best to them. Amazing service and amazing ice cream

I went to Tanya and Matt’s Ice Creamiest with a group of friends, and we left extremely disappointed. We were standing there clearly waiting to be served, and the staff completely ignored us. Instead, they skipped right over us and went to help the last group of people that walked in after us — like we were invisible. That was flat-out disrespectful. No greeting, no acknowledgment, nothing. We felt completely dismissed. I don’t care how “popular” this place is — treating people like that is unacceptable. We won’t be coming back.

I've been going to Tanya & Matt's ice cream parlor for almost 19 years and the quality and flavor of ice cream is still the same or even better. Today I tried the chocolate covered cherry ice cream.... But I also loved the key lime pie flavor. I'm definitely going back for more. The lady behind the counter was very friendly and had a nice smile despite the rush at the time we got there. The place is always busy, we are lucky we found a spot to sit. Today was the perfect day for ice cream and Tanya & Matt's was definitely the place to go.

I’m not sure what changed but my part of five came with no one in line in front of us. Only one work would take care of your group and even when the other group members asked for help the other employees refused to help. The first people in our group were completely finished by the time the last person got ice cream. The only thing I can figure is it’s about tips. I’ve been coming here for years but won’t be back unless this is fixed.

First time in this place and Debrielle took care of us, wow.. outstanding customer service, she told us about the most popular flavors, the new ones, also offered us to try them before order, a smile always with every interaction, she also came out and cleaned the table.. about the flavor... This is a classic neighborhood ice cream shop. If you live in the area you are a regular, if you don’t live in the area you are greeted like you are a regular! They have a wide variety of flavors and a handful of sugar free flavors as well. The staff is friendly and helpful, and the ice cream never disappoints! The only suggestion we have is more seating options. They offer booths and some outdoor seating but any parties larger than 4-5 it can be difficult to all sit together. We can’t wait to come back!

Update August 2024: More improvements. Friendly staff and at an adequate staffing level. More flavors. I had the nanna’s banana pudding - so good.
2022: Much improved with new ownership. Friendlier, cleaned up inside, nicely done order window and then place where they put your order for pick up, nice selection of flavors - and an added bonus - no more creepy Matt at the store

I discovered Tonya and Matt during the pandemic. I wanted so much to feel normal with everything closed down. I appreciate the outside seating, but most of all, the customer service and the product itself. This was our go to outing almost daily. The ice cream Orders were taken from a window, and the young ladies brought them out to the customer through the door. my favorite combinations were Lucuma, Ube, and Ginger. Ube is still my favorite ice cream next to ginger I not pair it with coconut as well as vanilla cherry. I have yet to find another location of these flavors.

We tried to get simple cones at the Northdale location today. Unfortunately your team members couldn’t be bothered to take our order. In stead they stood gabbing with one another. What gives Matt???

I am a loyal customer of this ice cream shop, but today it is going through a bad time. I went with my daughter and my pet, I stayed outside waiting with my dog and my 9-year-old daughter went in to buy her ice cream, but she spent 10 minutes in line without anyone helping her. The girls were chatting among themselves, not caring that there was a person waiting. When I entered I told one of the girls that my daughter had been waiting for a long time to be seen and the worst thing was that there was no line. They should be more attentive and should respect all customers.

We went here yesterday. I ordered the Uber and coconut ice cream on waffle bowl. I enjoyed it sooo much. I hope in the future they will have jackfruit and maiz con yelo flavor to make it Filipino halo halo ice cream.

Delicious homemade ice cream at a North Tampa staple that's been around for over 30 years! Our kids love Cookie Monster, Cotton Candy, and Strawberry, and playing the claw machine whenever we go! Perfect for a family night out or just when I'm in the area running errands

Would recommend anyone who is in the area or coming in from out of town to try Tanya and Matts. You will not regret it! The staff is great and better yet, the ice cream is homemade!!! This is a must stop if you’re near the shop or have a craving for delicious ice cream

The one thing my daughter (3.5) asked for coming to Florida was bubblegum ice cream. I called all over in Siesta Key, Ruskin, and Tampa. Calling here, I was told yes they have it. Day of, I went online to verify, as it had been a couple days. Bubblegum icecream is listed in the online menu. I then went to order ahead, and was able to select bubblegum icecream, so thinking I was safe, drove an extra 30 minutes away. Got here, and no bubblegum icecream. Major disappointment.
NEW INFO:
Not only did the owners promptly respond to my review with an apology, they provided an email address for further communication. I was able to correspond directly with the owner to have my frustrations resolved. As I am out of state, they offered many solutions to go above and beyond providing exceptional customer service.
Side note, the bubblegum icecream is truly amazing. It's the nostalgic pink icecream with little gum pieces throughout, not the blue and pink bubblegum flavored icecream you might be able to find elsewhere.
I will definitely be going back on my next visit to Florida!

My favorite was junk in the trunk this time. My ice cream cohort chose almond joy, which has real coconut!
Both flavors were exciting and new, along with the 38 or so other flavor. They seem to be made with real ingredients and have such a natural and creamy flavor.

This is a perfect local ice cream shop. Our kids love coming here to meet friends after big school events and for other special occasions. There are typically a couple dozen flavors, some of which are pretty unique. Staff are always really nice and patient with aforementioned kids. It is a little awkward to see every flavor when there is a long line, but all flavors are listed on the wall to help in this regard. Would highly recommend supporting this family-owned local business!

Finally found this place after tasting at the tampa Chef Showdown back in April. Ube flavor is super smooth and leaves a nice after-taste. Mississippi mudslide was delicious. Look forward to trying more flavors.

Loved this place! We came for the first time this weekend. They had sooo many flavors including the classics as well as unique ones. I also loved that they have different options for toppings like Nutella. Prices were reasonable and they offer kiddie cones. We will definitely be back!
